Website down?

The site won't load, for you or for everyone

This usually shows up as one of a few things:

• “This site can't be reached” or a browser connection error
• A hosting or server error page instead of your site
• The site loads for you but customers say it's down, or the other way around
• It was fine yesterday and today it just isn't

Almost always one of five things

• Your hosting account is suspended, over quota, or having an outage
• A domain or DNS record changed, expired, or is pointing somewhere wrong
• An SSL certificate lapsed or is misconfigured, so browsers refuse the connection
• A server misconfiguration, bad update, or full disk on the hosting side
• A recent change, by you, a developer, or an app, broke something

Most outages trace back to hosting, DNS, or a certificate issue, and most of those can be diagnosed and fixed within a single Quick Fix session. If the cause is bigger, such as data loss, a hosting migration, or a compromised server, we'll tell you plainly and move you into Website Rescue before doing any additional work.
