How much recent work you can afford to lose. Daily backups mean an RPO of up to 24 hours. A busy online store may need hourly.

Common questions
My host says they back up my site. Isn't that enough?
Host backups are often stored on the same servers as your site, kept for a short time, and sometimes charged to restore. If the hosting account is suspended or compromised, those backups can go with it. Off-site backups you control don't.
Doesn't Virtual.Support Care already include backups?
Care includes routine website backups. Backup Services add longer off-site retention, monthly test restores and email backups. A Disaster Recovery Plan adds the documentation, standby copy and drills.
We just had a problem fixed. Is now a good time?
Yes. Right after a fix, the site is clean and we already know how it's set up, so your first backup is a known-good copy.
What is a backup check?
A free look at what's backed up today: website, database, email and domain records, where the copies live, and when a restore was last tested. You get a short list of gaps and a quote to close them.
